A dynamic alliance between Roche the Swiss Nanoscience Institute University Basel, Department of Biomedical Engineering University Basel, Institute for Medical Engineering and Medical Informatics University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland. The MONA is an open platform connecting diverse stakeholders to accelerate the innovation of 3D manufacturing and fostering scientific exchange.

Vision

MONAs efforts are focused specifically on applying the latest advances in 3D manufacturing. We focus on free-form micro to nano-fabrication of biohybrid components for medical and pharmacological microsystems and cellularized implants by processing highly biocompatible grade materials.

MONA envisions the fortification of a regional (BS, BL, AG,SO) competence center aiding scientific exchanges and collaboration between academic, institutional and industrial players by …

… establishing a large user base and organizing annual user meetings.

… offering training and support for academic as well as industry users.

… facilitating the access to interdisciplinary technology platforms and meeting locations to sprout interaction.

… supporting efficient technology transfer to large manufacturing plants in view of upscaled production with measurable economic impact.

Dedication

The nanolithography laboratory is dedicated to the memory of Mona Julia Katharina Klein who pioneered wafer-scale nanosphere lithography.
